Being new to the area and not having any connections in the local real estate market, we turned to Zillow to browse homes for sale. With inventory so low, it was slim pickens. We eventually found a home that we instantly fell in love with, and Vicki happened to be the listing agent. It had only been on the market for several days and by the time we contacted Vicki to see the home, it had already went pending. “Darn! We missed out!” we thought to ourselves and wondered how long we would have to wait until another perfect home hit the market.
We ended up having a great conversation with Vicki and she wanted to help us with our home search, no strings attached. She showed us a few homes that had been sitting on the market, but they weren’t right for us. She put us on her daily email list so we could see all of the new listings as soon as they became available (so we didn’t miss out again). Several weeks had gone by and nothing really caught our eye. Then out of the blue, we got a call from Vicki. She said she had a friend from another real estate office who was going to be listing a house that she thought would be perfect for us, and asked if we wanted to see it that weekend, before the house ever hit the market. “This is our chance!”
Vicki showed us the house before any other buyers even knew the house was for sale, which gave us a huge advantage over our competition. We were hooked, we loved the house and decided that this was the one. When it came to putting in our offer, she helped us analyze the neighborhood and knew exactly how to make an attractive offer without over-paying, to ensure that it got accepted. After some negotiation, our offer was accepted and the listing never went public.
If it wasn’t for Vicki and her personal connections with other local real estate professionals, we never would have had the opportunity to swoop in and purchase this house off-market. Instead, we would have had to enter a bidding war, and the house likely would have sold for well above asking price (which is exactly what happened with that first house we missed out on).
Additionally, Vicki stayed on top of everything throughout the transaction, to keep the ball rolling, even when our attorney wasn’t doing his job. Whenever we needed a professional such as a home inspector or a contractor to look at a specific issue with the house, she knew just the right person to call. She always answered the phone when we called and took as much time as necessary to answer any questions or concerns to make us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. We truly felt valued as one of her clients and she made the entire process a breeze. Being in the real estate business myself and having dealt with hundreds of real estate professionals, Vicki is one of the best that I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Back in 2007, my husband and I had decided we wanted to move to Long Valley to be closer to family. We had a townhouse in Clinton at the time and had to sell that first, but Mary took us around and showed us several houses in the Long Valley area. We found one that we loved, and Mary helped us through the process of putting in a bid. We did, but because our offer was contingent upon selling our house, we had lost the bid to another family. My family had the pleasure of working with Vicki throughout the entire process of searching for homes, for 3 years, to finally buying in 2021. In the 3 years, were were outbid several times, had to back out of a deal due to failed home inspection, had to take a break due to being furloughed, and finally had to deal with the aggressive housing market last year. Tara Lauterbach helped us sell our Flanders, NJ house in July, 2022, just over four months ago. It is a bit of a story; where do I start? My mom passed away rather suddenly on September 3rd, 2021. My family wasn't sure about many major decisions. There was a possibility that my dad would move into our Flanders house with us, but there was also a possibility that we would move into his Randolph house with him. I contacted Tara on November 1st, 2021. I wanted to know, if we decided to put our house on the market, if Tara thought we needed to change anything before listing it. I also wanted to know approximately what she thought it could sell for at that time. Tara was kind and compassionate about what my family was going through while still being professional and thorough. She came and did a walk through of my house and answered all of my questions.
Then came what I think would be the hardest part for any realtor - I asked her not to call or contact me at all until I reached back out to her. And I told her I wouldn't be calling her until March at the earliest.
Tara stuck to her word; the next time we talked was when I contacted her in April. It may sound strange but I so appreciated not being contacted by any realtors during that time. My family had to get through my mom's funeral, which was Thanksgiving weekend, plus all the holidays without her. I didn’t want to even think about my house or realtors.

Let me start by saying that I had asked an acquaintance who had once worked as a realtor whether she could recommend an agent to me. She gave me the phone number of Mary Grant. Mary and I met and got to know one another, but it was several months later before I decided I was ready to place my home up for sale. Mary proved from our first meeting that she knew the real estate business . She won my trust after listening to me and then coming up with a recommended plan. When I met with her several months later my needs and goals had changed. She proved to be devoted to me as her client. We recently sold our home in central Jersey and purchased a new home in Maplewood and Pam and Andy were with us every step of the way. 1. We began our house search with a call to your office about a house in Morristown in July 2006. From there, the four of us went to over 50 houses in at least seven more towns, with additional driving tours of several more towns. Most of these areas were an hour or more away from your office, but Pam and Andy never complained about the driving and long Saturdays spent searching for our dream house. 2. Through lengthy discussions with Pam and Andy about what we were looking for in our new town as well as new house, we learned from them about which towns fit our criteria. This was especially helpful to us because we did not know the area. Since Dean was commuting for nearly 3 hours each day and Sue was ill with morning sickness for a part of the search period, Pam and Andy’s advice was greatly appreciated in helping us narrow our search. Their extensive knowledge of a wide range of areas was impressive. 3. During the past eight months, we attempted to purchase a few homes, which for various reasons did not work out. Pam and Andy were forever helpful, making phone calls to lawyers, realtors, homeowners, mortgage company representatives ,etc. They taught us everything we know about how to buy a house in a competitive market with above-asking offers and multiple bids and this ultimately enabled us to buy the perfect house for us.
4. Andy’s knowledge of engineering issues was particularly helpful to us during walk-throughs and our inspection and his number-crunching enabled us to devise bidding strategies and make our best offers. 5. Pam was a tireless crusader for us, working the phones to gather useful information on houses and present us positively to sellers and their agents. She also got information for us on everything from public transportation in certain towns to performing arts venues in others. Her encyclopedic knowledge of all things house-related was invaluable. 6. In addition, because of poor service we received from another realtor in the sale of our house, which was out of their area, Pam and Andy went above and beyond the call of duty to help us with that transaction as well. They advised us on how to present, market and ultimately sell our house and what to expect throughout the process. Pam and Andy were truly outstanding in their service and commitment. We could not have been more pleased with the work they did for us and consider them good friends.
